Background: P2Y11 belongs to the family of G protein coupled receptors. It is coupled to the stimulation of the phosphoinositide and adenylyl cyclase pathways, and behaves as a selective purinoceptor. P2Y11 has been reported in human monocyte-derived dendritic cells, lymphocytes from patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, brain, heart, kidney, liver, skeletal muscle, spleen, and testis. ESTs have been isolated from normal human prostate and pancreas.
