Background: Mps1 (TTK) is a tyrosine and serine/threonine dual-specificity kinase required for centrosome duplication and the spindle checkpoint and has recently been shown to have a role in centrosome duplication. Alterations to Mps1 have been associated with cell transformation and chromosome instability in different tumor models. It is present in rapidly proliferating cell lines.
